Learning the skills of communication is crucial but essential in building self development and healthy relationships towards other people. This is the key to most common situation like break up because of less communication of each other side. Communication is the most important part in every relationship to friends, family and to every opposite gender, not all arguments are constructive most of this arguments are destructive. The closer we are to our friends, or love ones the more easy we can hurt or be hurt. It is more likely the same as what the saying goes: "Sticks and stones may break by bones, but words can never harm me." Sometimes we hurt other person because of how we say things, not on what we say to them..
Communication is like an art and energy; the sense of transferring thoughts/idea /information from the mind of person to another human being. This is always a two way process, if its not then communication won't be effective in any cases.
We may have to practice interpersonal communication for us to learn an effective way of communicating to others. This comprises with the facts, interpretation of thoughts and perceptions, the feelings involved, intentions for needs and wants, the choice of words, and choosing ourselves as the communication center.
As we look ahead to a new relationship, we need to be able to change our old and faulty style of communicating to other people. Our communication patterns should also be changed in order to acquire a healthy interaction. Utilizing a positive reinforcement such as praising others are one example of a constructive and reforming a wounded self-image and broken self esteem particularly to children. Being an effective communicator, one may need to grow and become a better person with positive insights in all relationships.
